Not into politics? Neither was Dora.

Teodora Basch was born in Zagreb, Yugoslavia, on January 31, 1938. Her parents called her “Dora”. Her father was a simple man, making brushes to sell in his workshop. Her mother grew up in Croatia where her father was the town rabbi. Her younger brother was born on January 21, 1941.

In April of 1941 while Dora was visiting her grandparents, Nazi Germany invaded Yugoslavia. Her country became a puppet state run by Croatian fascists. In June of 1941, her parents and young brother were arrested and sent to prison camps. Why? Simply because they were Jewish. And Jews were deemed the enemy to the National Socialists Party; the Nazis.  Her parents did not survive the holocaust. Dora spent world war 2 in hiding.

Until 1941, the Basch family lived a simple life. Enjoying the fruits of their labors; raising a family. They weren’t into politics, but the politics and politicians of two countries, Germany and Yugoslavia reached into their little home and destroyed their lives.

What are the politicians in Washington and elsewhere doing today that will reach into your home and destroy your lives? It pays to be vigilant and involved… while you still can.
